A fun day out for all the family!

The ninth Annual Hawkinge fun day is due to take place on Saturday 14th September 2013 and this years event is shaping up to be even better than previous years with something for everybody. There will be a stage putting on not only local acts such as The Hawkinge Flyers, Premier Performing Arts, Zumba and Capel Dog Training demonstrations but also four bands, The Flash Harries, Brother Bare, Alex Beharrell Band and Skies.

Around the Green will be a variety of activities from a Punch and Judy show to Rodeo Bull, Climbing wall and bouncy castles to name but a few, as well as a licensed bar, food and Ice cream vendors along with stands promoting various local activities. To the side of the Community Centre will be a table fair so there should also be some bargains to be found. If you would like a table, please contact Len on 01303 893126 to make a booking but hurry as there is a limited number of pitches available.

Our local radio, Academy FM, will be in attendance and will be reporting on the event as the day progresses. We are programmed to have a fly past by a Dakota during the afternoon so listen out for the announcement of its arrival. Hawkinge Harry, our own local giant, will be looking over the event so don’t forget to say hello to him.

The event, held on the green in Heron Forstal Avenue, starts at midday and will be formally opened by the Mayor of Hawkinge Councillor Tony Hutt.

If we are unlucky with the weather on the day as much as the event as possible will be transferred to the adjacent Community Centre so, don’t let the weather stop you attending. Finally if you would like to become involved with future Hawkinge events why not have a chat with one of our volunteers and leave your name at our events stand.
